It's a very relevant question. So are : Why use NFC over QR codes? Why not just use QR? Surely the cost premium of NFC isn't justifiable over QR codes? I always like to start with the consumer. When Apple announced the new iPhone 5 on 12th September, one of the most obvious omissions from the specifications was the inclusion of NFC.
