Lumia Live gets connected

Nokia recently launched their Lumia Live series of music events, with a show in Bristol with Ghostpoet and Towers. Apart from electrifying the audience with stunning light shows and great music, attendees were also given an exclusive NFC enabled wristband that gave them to an exclusive Mix radio playlist, developed specially for the event.

All attendees had to do was tap the wristbands with their NFC phone and the wristband would spawn music from participating artists. Lumia owners got the full Nokia Music experience whilst non-Nokia owners were served a great promotional playlist, albeit more in the guise of a promotional loop, the idea being that they'll see that if they were using Nokia Music they would get the tracks for free.

Annie Kearney who drove this activity stated that this activity around the concert is essential, rather than simply relying on heavy-handed stage branding. "Gone are the days when you just have your brand's name on the stage."

The wristbands were custom made and designed and supplied by Wooshping in a very short timeframe to enable Nokia to support this brand activity. The waterproof wristbands looked like this and not only promoted the opportunity to get the tunes, but also the hashtag for the event and Nokia's own Twitter handle.

Further wristbands will be distributed to attendees of other Lumia Live events through the series.
